LONDON, UK (November 2021) - Newly launched to the UK on 12th November is the world’s first AI multi-sport app and platform, TeamSportz, which aims to help every sports team improve their performance and understanding of the game whilst enhancing their health and wellbeing. Designed specifically with the needs of amateur sports teams in mind, TeamSportz is proud to be the first company to offer teams professional sports tracking and performance data without the need for additional equipment and at an accessible price.
The platform underwent beta testing early last year, which came at the perfect time so sports teams could continue to practise remotely and improve their performance even during the pandemic. Deemed a successful year in beta, over 700 users (composed of teams, coaches and players) signed up, downloaded and engaged with the TeamSportz platform.
With the TeamSportz app, players can turn their phone into their coach, personal trainer, and team schedule, all in one. There is no equipment required and players can practise different drills and exercises wherever, whenever. Through the use of AI technology, the app will map out body movement and players can see their personal stats on speed, acceleration, elevation, intensity, duration, accuracy, number of reps, reaction time, and body form, making it seamless and encouraging to keep track of progress and improve. Players can receive real-time feedback or share their results directly with their coach right within the app. Also as a way to encourage healthy competition, players who are part of a team can Challenge a teammate to win medals and a spot on the Leaderboard.
Coaches join TeamSportz by signing up on the intuitive Coaches Corner platform (which is connected to the app that players use), enabling them to spend less time on admin and more time on coaching. Each coach has access to a unique dashboard where they can keep track of their roster, calendar, events, practices, games, and stats, all in one place. Using the data, coaches can help improve player performance as well as overall team development. TeamSportz’ advanced video library also allows coaches to upload games and tag specific points in the videos to better understand strengths and weaknesses of in-game or practice performance. Coaches can then send tagged videos or highlights to their players and provide feedback.
The TeamSportz app is available for individual players to download for free on the App Store and Google Play, with the option to purchase the Pro version for £3.99 per month to unlock more features. Coaches can sign up their team of up to 50 players for £39 per month, and those coaching at larger academies can sign up unlimited players for £199 per month. Users are not binded to any contract and can cancel their subscription at any time.
Established in 2017 when the development began, the concept of TeamSportz was inspired by Founder and CEO Francisco Baptista’s experience of growing up playing basketball in his community, where he couldn’t find proper training that was accessible and would help him and other grassroots players improve their performance. As Francisco pursued a career in software development, he combined his tech knowledge and passion for sports and decided to create TeamSportz, so he could make AI simple, affordable and accessible for every team with the end goal of making a positive impact on others’ lives.
After years of development and implementation, Francisco shares his excitement on the highly anticipated launch, “TeamSportz is bringing Artificial Intelligence to a largely underserved market, the amateur or grassroots sports teams.
