Video analysis in basketball allows players to identify and correct weaknesses in their technique, study their opponents' tendencies, and better understand game strategies.

Perhaps the most obvious benefit to using video analysis in practices or during a game is the ability to learn visually. Through video, you can show and correct mistakes instantly, meaning players can understand visually what should be they position on the court and what they are doing.

TeamSportz created an intuitive Video Editor to empower you to analyse your practices and games, spot weaknesses and strengths and easily flag and easily share video clips with your players in one click.

After uploading the video of the game or practice into TeamSportz you start to create your video library to house all your videos in a single place.

STEP 2

The second step is to think about - what are you looking for to analyse? We call those tags.

TeamSportz, sports video editor tags - tag moments of the game
Video tags capture moments of the game

We call those tags. Tags are shortcuts that you create to help analyse the video. For example, Offensive Rebounds (OREB), Defensive Rebounds (DREB), Blocks (BLKS) etc. You can create up to nine custom tags that will appear on the side of your Video Editor. You can use tags to spot when set plays worked (PLAY1).

Tagging can be a time consuming task, to save you time we have created keyboard shortcuts (use the numbers in your keyboard) for each tag that way you don't have to constantly stop and start the video. For example, on the images here pressing the number 2 on your keyboard will capture a turnover, and 3 and Offensive rebound.

Optionally you can analyse the opponents performance using the same tags. The opponent tags appear in blue on the right hand-side of the Editor.

The video editor also has a set of controls to help your analysis:
